DiversityInc Ranks Ameren Fourth Among Utility Companies

DiversityInc magazine has ranked Ameren fourth among utility companies in its 2009 DiversityInc Top Regional Utilities list. The honor was announced at a March 12 award ceremony in New York City.

Ameren’s diversity strengths include:

A robust mentoring program which includes training for mentors

Measurable goals for mentoring pairs with a formal follow-up

Employee resource groups are funded and used for marketing and recruiting

Senior executives participate in the employee resource groups

Diversity training is mandatory for all employees

Formal follow-up includes metrics to assess the success of the program

 

Ameren has a formal Tier I and Tier II supplier diversity program. The program is incorporated into the overall corporate business goals, and initiatives are communicated to employees. Ameren includes supplier diversity metrics with its RFPs and audits its supplier diversity numbers.
